Both Washington and San Francisco lost last night, bring the number down again. Cubs begin a 4 game series in Philadelphia tonight.
NL Central Wild Card sits at 32.

I am not a baseball expert by any means but I wanted to clarify something. You say that the Cubs Magic number is currently 15, and that "The Magic Number is affected by one of two events, a Cubs win or the best opponent losing. The number is 163 at the beginning of the season. When the number hits 0, the Cubs have clinched the NL Central and are in the PLAYOFFS!”
Earlier you also say "NL Central Wild Card sits at 32.” I’m a little confused. It would makes more sense to me that the Cubs’ NL Central Wild Card magic number is 15, and the Playoffs magic number might be something bigger like 32 (i.e. in order to surpass the Cardinals). Can you clarify for me?
I am pretty sure the magic number for a playoff birth is 15 (ie 2nd wild card spot) and the magic number for the Division Title is 32.
Ann - I'll clarify the CMN calculations in my next post! Go Cubs!
