The magic number for the 2016 NL Central Division Champion Chicago Cubs to earn home field advantage throughout the NL playoffs dropped by two again on Tuesday as they beat the Reds 6-1 and Washington lost another one to the Marlins. Good news: they've clinched the home field advantage for the NLDS!
Lester tossed a dominant start (7 IP, 5 K, 1 ER), Rizzo drove in 3, and Dexter "You Go, We Go" Fowler reached base in 4 of 5 plate appearances, scoring twice and driving in one.
The finale of the three-game series against the Reds starts at 7:05 p.m. Central Wednesday at Wrigley Field.
We're looking forward to covering the Cubs' playoff run and we're continuing to update the Cubs Magic Numbers!
