The Cubs shut out the Braves behind 7 stellar innings from John Lackey. El Mago (Javy Baez) was at it again hustling all the way to score from 2nd on a swinging bunt by Kyle Schwarber before Anthony Rizzo and Ian Happ combined for a double and a single to make it 2-0 Cubs.
That would be all the pitching would need as Wade Davis notched his 28th save in 28 opportunities. The series resumes for game 3 tomorrow at 1:20 as Jon Lester will return from the DL.
