Holy cow! The Cubs' bats came alive in St. Louis on Friday night as they trounced the Cards 13-5 behind a quality start from Jon Lester (6 IP, 3 K, 2 ER) and homers from Kris Bryant, Ian Happ, and Kyle Schwarber.
The North Siders put up a six-spot in the fifth to go up 11-1 and put the game out of reach. Albert Almora went 3-for-5 to raise his season average to .321, KB ended a homerless drought on a 2-for-4 night, Anthony Rizzo went 3-for-3, and Addy Russell had a 3-for-4 night. That's Cub.
The series continues Saturday at Busch Stadium.
Go Cubs go!
