Holy cow! The Cubs beat the Phillies 8-1 on Sunday behind a quality start from Jon Lester (6 IP, 7 K, 0 BB, 0 ER), his 15th win of 2018, and homers from Murphy, Rizzo, and Baez, his 30th of the season.
El Mago went 2-for-5, raising his season average to .299 while plating his NL-best 100th RBI. Rizzo reached in all four plate appearances, going 2-for-2 with 2 RBI, 3 runs scored, and 2 walks. His season average now stands at .280. Ian Happ also had a nice day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. That's Cub.
The North Siders head to Miller Park on Monday to kick off a three-game series with the Brewers, the first of six games against second-place Milwaukee over the next ten days. 136 regular season games down, 26 to go...
Go Cubs go!
