Hey, Cubs fans! Spring training was off to an exciting start with David Ross at the helm, Ian Happ & El Mago tearing it up (1.315 and 1.286 OPS, respectively), and veteran Josh Phegley hitting a cool .409 to make a strong case for making the roster as a third catcher.

Tyler Chatwood is on track to slot in as the North Siders' fifth starter, putting up a 1.86 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP over four starts (9.2 IP, 11 K, 2 BB). Rex Brothers also looks to be a nice addition to the Chicago bullpen, striking out 12 batters and walking only three in seven innings of work.

Kyle Hendricks is putting pressure on Rossy to name him the Cubs' Opening Day starter, with 8 K and only 1 BB over 9 IP. The Associate Professor (Maddux will always be The Professor to me) also has a stellar 1.00 ERA and ridiculously miniscule 0.44 WHIP this spring.

And if you didn't catch the ESPN broadcast that featured Bryzzo "mic'd up" -- check it out!

While spring training stats don't always carry over to the regular season, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about 2020 Cubs baseball (J-Hey's .444 OBP, anyone?). Unfortunately, public health concerns are putting a hold on baseball for now, and it's certainly the right thing to do.

So, we're looking forward to counting down the Cubs Magic Number as soon as baseball season's underway. In the meantime, enjoy a few Old Styles and Chicago dogs as you watch some 2016 season highlights!

Be well and GO CUBS GO!
