Holy cow! The Cubs clobbered the Reds 20-9 on Tuesday night behind two homers and five RBI from Swanson, a 4-for-5 night from newest Cub Jeimer Candelario (welcome back!), four RBI from Tauchman, and three-hit nights from Hoerner and Bellinger.
The North Siders struck early and never looked back, putting up a five-spot in the 1st. All told, the Cubs tied a franchise record with SEVEN home runs (Swanson's two plus one apiece from Wisdom, Bellinger, Tauchman, Amaya, and Hoerner).
Hayden Wesneski had another nice outing, putting up two scoreless innings after Steele struggled a bit in his start (6 IP, 4 ER, 6 K).
The series continues Wednesday at Wrigley.
107 games down, 55 to go. Go Cubs go!
