Holy mackerel! The Cubs beat the Braves 7-1 on Wednesday behind a quality start from Assad (6 IP, 0 ER, 7 K), two RBI from Pete Crow-Armstrong, and home runs from Seiya Suzuki and Mike Tauchman.
Assad has a 1.98 ERA since July 1, the lowest in MLB (minimum 120 IP). Nick Madrigal had a 3-for-4 game and the North Siders piled up 13 hits on the night.
The Cubs kick off a seven-game homestand tomorrow, as the Pirates head to Wrigley.
44 games down, 118 to go.
Go Cubs go!
